Developer Console Onboarding

Developer Console Onboarding

The SW4P developer console is the operator surface for builder accounts using the single API. It exposes the current backend contract for:

  • API key creation, rotation, and revocation
  • usage analytics and configured per-key rate limits
  • project and storefront management
  • webhook configuration and delivery logs

Entry Points

In the console desktop, the main navigation surfaces are:

  • API Keys
  • Usage Stats
  • Webhooks
  • Project Analytics
  • Projects

These are available from both the desktop icons and the Start menu.

  1. Create an API key for your environment.
  2. Copy the key immediately; the full secret is only shown once.
  3. Create or confirm a project/storefront entry.
  4. Add a webhook endpoint if you need delivery callbacks.
  5. Exercise the API on devnet.
  6. Check usage, analytics, and webhook logs against the resulting traffic.

API Key Rotation

The console rotation flow keeps the backend contract honest:

  1. archive the existing key name
  2. create a replacement key with the original name and rate limit
  3. copy the new secret
  4. cut clients over to the new key
  5. revoke the old key once traffic has drained

This uses the shared developer key create, update, and revoke endpoints. It is not a separate rotation-only backend path.

Usage And Rate Limits

The usage view shows:

  • total request count
  • total transfer volume
  • success rate
  • average latency
  • per-key request breakdown
  • configured per-key rate limits

The rate-limit value shown there is the configured key contract, not remaining quota in real time.

Webhook Delivery Logs

Webhook logs currently show the final delivery result plus:

  • total attempts
  • retries used
  • final response status
  • total delivery latency

This is intended to answer whether a delivery succeeded immediately or only after retries.
